UFW: front row & backstage
I quickly realized, while sitting on the front row with paper and brush in hand, that it was near impossible for me, a first timer, to capture an entire look while the model whisked down the runway.

UFW: before the show
I've had such a fantastic time working with the founders of Utah Fashion Week for this year's event.
Natalie Wynn from Natalie Wynn Design has been so gracious and kind in allowing me to be a part of this event.
Below are the paintings I made, featuring one designer from each show at fashion week:

red
I'm a sucker for makeup trends; I love the challenge of integrating runway beauty looks into my day to day routine. It has been so great to see playful eye makeup make a comeback.
The versatility of the color red has been proven in lip colors for ages, and now is being used around the eyes to make waves in the beauty world since Miu Miu s/s 2012. Grunge or elegant, soft or bright, a little or a ton. I love it because application can be super quick plus and it really makes my brown eyes pop.
I compiled a few looks from the runway& the red carpet below along with some everyday glamour ideas from around the web.

behind the scenes
I rarely post about my creative process, because as illustrator David Downton once put it, why would I show anyone the panic/pain involved in each painting? haha
However, I myself love watching little painting videos, I feel like I can learn so much from watching how other artists work. Everyone is so different!

Natalie Stallings is a friend from art school and she reached out to me to write a little about my work for her website.
As she has developed her own art and studied and traveled, she took an interest in the topic of women in art. She asked a few of her female peers to discuss the subject; what it means to be a woman making art in todays world, as well as how womanhood influences our work.

Evelyn Haupt for K & Elphy
I had the priviledge of working with K&Elphy, a handmade brand from Athens Greece, in creating images for her Spring/Summer line this year.

Collaboration with Caitlin Wing, fashion photographer.
This summer is plodding along and I am happy to say that it is the first summer in a long time that feels utterly un-wasted. Hiking, swimming, exercise, vacations, play dates, dancing, skating, Pokemon Go; we are doing it all.
Best summer wishes! xoxo

I was contacted by an intern last February on behalf of the Ensign, the monthly publication for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Having had this magazine in my home for as long as I can remember, being able to contribute to it as an artist was a little surreal.
Thank you to the family friend who passed my name along, and for those that worked with me throughout the project; it was a very positive experience. Feeling extremely grateful.

oh my dear
Talia always says, with her little hand on her forehead, "Ohhh my dearrrrrr!" whenever something goes wrong.
This here is an illustration meant to be submitted to DrawaDot's open call with Valentino.

We are the closest family ever and we are the most insane family ever. It may look weird to others, but to us, it's life."
