Haupt Christmas Card 2014

DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS,

As a youth, family Christmas cards were usually such a drag. Either it would be unbearably wordy, or the only things noted were the ones everyone already knew.
Now that I have a family, I understand that spearheading something like the annual Christmas card is something of a challenge. You have to consider not only your loved ones that are far away, but those that are closest to you as well.

I guess I could send out a cute postcard with a family photo saying Merry Christmas, but this is my chance to tell people the lovely, random details that I so craved in others' cards over the years. (Also there is no postage. )
Jacob and Evelyn reached three years of marriage and are happier than ever. Jacob has had a defining year in school and has continually worked hard to do his best. Recently, his art was showcased in the Harris Fine Art Center, a school magazine, and was accepted in a show in Phoenix, Arizona for early next year. He has accumulated an impressive movie collection this year and the whole family benefits from it. He and Talia often sit together on the couch enjoying everything from Adventure Time to The Page Master.

Evelyn has super long hair now and has been graduated since April. Though it has been a struggle to stay on top of the house chores, being at home with Talia has proven to be the best adventure yet. She continues free-lance illustrating from home, working on children's books, custom portraits, florals, and fashion illustration. She also entered an intense knitting phase early this fall and loves to create hats and scarves while watching Netflix in the quiet hours of Talia's nap.

Talia is almost two and half years old. She speaks spanish almost exclusively unless someone starts walking away from her and she'll pop up and say "Wait! Where you going??" Her favorite games are Hide and Seek in the dark with a flashlight, dance parties with strobe/disco lights, and "Espada!" (where she chases you with her ninja sword). She treasures her "amulet", binky, and Sofia the First blanket over anything else. She has developed a "don't mess with me" attitude that makes her mother weary and her daddy proud.

We hope that this holiday season will bring you peace and joy and all things cinnamon. We appreciate all the wonderful things each of you has done for us this year; the love we have received has been incredible and the impact it has had on our little family is beyond words.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
with love, the Haupt Family
